Wings for Waves (Follow up of the feasible ideas)
Purpose
1. To bring at one place all the studies and researches on the various aspects of Auroville
2. To find out and bring to the fore implementable ideas/visions/plans/ changes presented in these studies/researches
3. To inquire into and, if feasible, help implement those ideas/visions/plans/changes, possibly, in cooperation/consultation with their originators.
Explanation
Often, students and faculty from Indian, European, or American universities come to Auroville as part of their academic courses. They stay here for a few weeks and study various aspects of Auroville, such as the neighbourhood or bioregion, architecture, visitors or tourism, etc. Then, towards the end of their stay, they present their work to interested Aurovilians and bring out what needs to be improved, changed, or initiated. They submit their thesis to their university and leave a copy with Auroville. That’s usually the end of it.
Wings for Waves (WFW) seeks to change this. “Waves” stand for new ideas, new vision, and new plans for action. “Wings” stand for following up on feasible ideas, either directly or through other agencies such as Auroville Village Action or other bodies of Auroville.
